Abstract
Using the atomic beam technique and monochromatized synchrotron radiat ion, the photoion yield spectra of Au+ and Au2+ in the region of 5p ex citation between 45 eV and 85 eV were observed. The results are compar ed with a previous study using the dual laser plasma technique and wit h the theoretical photoionization cross section calculated in the fram ework of Fano resonances interacting with many continua.
