Abstract
Two-dimensional dynamic contact is formulated as a linear complementar ity problem using contact compatibility conditions and the Coulomb fri ction law. For the time integration of dynamic response, displacements are approximated as second-order polynomials and a new scheme of cons idering velocity discontinuities is presented.
