The influence of immunomodulators of different nature (rIL-2, thymalin
, levamisole, interferon-alpha) on the growth of human and mouse tumou
r explants and isolated tumour cells has been investigated. It was sho
wn, that immunomodulators exert different effects on the growth of tum
our explants and isolated cells depending on the nature, doses of immu
nomodulators, and particular model of tumour growth used in the experi
ments. Comparative analysis of immunomodulators' effects showed that r
IL-2 has the greatest identity of action on the tumour cells and expla
nts in various model systems. Revealed differences of immunomodulators
effects testify to a necessity to determine individual sensitivity of
human tumors to immunomodulators, irrespective of their nature.
