A CATALOG OF THE BIRD SPECIMENS IN THE SINGAPORE ZOOLOGICAL REFERENCECOLLECTION .1. STRUTHIONIFORMES - CHARADRIIFORMES

The Zoological Reference Collection (ZRC) of the National University o f Singapore, houses the zoological collections of the former Raffles M useum in Singapore. These collections form the bases for many zoologic al research on Southeast Asian fauna. There are about 30,000 bird stud y skins in the collection. The present catalogue, the first of five pa rts, lists 3,825 specimens of 342 species and subspecies and 32 famili es belonging to the avian orders Struthioniformes, Sphenisciformes, Po dicipediformes, Procellariiformes, Pelecaniformes, Ciconiiformes, Anse riformes, Falconiformes, Galliformes, Gruiformes and Charadriiformes. Catalogue number, sex, locality data, name of collectors, date of coll ection, and remarks where available, are provided for each specimen.
