Changes of the acousto-optical quality coefficient in the olygoether(m
eth)acrylate photopolymers of different chemical contents were investi
gated on their temperature dependence. We have revealed that increasin
g the number of aromatic rings and, to some extent, increasing the dis
tance between neighbouring C=O chemical bonds leads to an increase of
the acoustooptical quality coefficient M. It is also found that the pa
rameter M increases with decreasing temperature below 80 K. A maximum
value of the parameter M is always reached at low temperatures. Data o
btained are in good agreement with previous investigations of the opti
cal second harmonic generation. An essential influence of an external
electric field on the acousto-optical properties of the mentioned phot
opolymers was revealed. In our opinion, it reflects the essential role
of a crystalline reorientation which gives a contribution to the acou
sto-optical quality coefficient.
