G. Nonveiller et A. Cetkovic, SERIATOSPIDIA N-GEN WITH A DESCRIPTION OF 3 NEW SPECIES (HYMENOPTERA MUTILLIDAE), Tropical zoology, 9(2), 1996, pp. 305-314
Studies of the African members of the genus Trogaspidia Ashmead 1899 h
ave shown that the biseriata group, as defined by BISCHOFF (1920), whi
ch includes two species, described on female specimens, deserves a ful
l generic status, named Seriatospidia. This new genus is defined by th
e abdominal vestiture pattern, which appears to be highly significant
for the recognition of the taxa in the females of Trogaspidia s.l. Thr
ee new species, (junodiana, prostesemata and angolana), resulting from
the study of formerly published as well as still unnamed material, ar
e described.
