The vibrational modes of antimony sulphur iodide (SbST) crystals are d
etermined in the para electric and ferroelectric crystalline phases by
using the correlation method. The number of normal modes of a crystal
which vibrate, are found using the full symmetries of the irreducible
representation of the relevant crystallographic point group. The ferr
oic state of the Crystal SbSI is associated with the irreducible repre
sentation of the underlying point group.
