Abstract
Myocardial diseases with restraining bands are disorders caused by the presence of abnormal fibrous bands which in general lonk the interven tricular septum with the pillars of the left ventricle. The clinical s igns are non-specific: principally a general attack, pulmonary oedema and effusion. Ultrasonography is the only way of obtaining a diagnosis treatment corresponds with that for congestive cardiac insufficiency and the prognosis is always very guarded.
