Abstract
The paper presents a fully meshless procedure for solving partial diff erential equations. The approach termed generically the 'finite point method' is based on a weighted least square interpolation of point dat a and point collocation for evaluating the approximal:ion integrals. S ome examples showing the accuracy of the method for solution of adjoin t and non-self adjoint equations typical of convective-diffusive trans port and also to the analysis of a compressible fluid mechanics proble m are presented.
