Minimally invasive surgical techniques cause little disruption of the
abdominal wall and peritoneum and have clear potential benefits in pat
ients receiving continuous ambulatory peritoneal dialysis (CAPD). The
presence of a peritoneal catheter allows the creation of a pneumoperit
oneum completely non-invasively.
