Jc. Thomason et al., EFFECT OF TEMPERATURE AND PHOTOPERIOD ON THE GROWTH OF THE EMBRYONIC DOGFISH, SCYLIORHINUS-CANICULA, Journal of Fish Biology, 49(4), 1996, pp. 739-742
Photoperiod has no effect on the growth of embryonic dogfish. Converse
ly, developmental rates are highly susceptible to temperature variatio
n. Embryos maintained at 16 degrees C grew faster and ecloded earlier
than those maintained at 10 degrees C. Increased temperature had no ef
fect on size at eclosion. (C) 1996 The Fisheries Society of the Britis
