Di. Novikov et He. Jorgensen, A THEORETICAL INVESTIGATION OF THE TOPOLOGY OF THE COSMIC MICROWAVE BACKGROUND ANISOTROPY ON THE SCALE SIMILAR-TO-1-DEGREES, The Astrophysical journal, 471(2), 1996, pp. 521-541
We have obtained new mathematical results for the theory of clustering
of peaks in a Gaussian random held and for the theory of percolation.
This new approach can be used for the development of methods for the
analysis of the cosmic microwave background. We have simulated 10 degr
ees x 10 degrees sky maps of the cosmic microwave background anisotrop
y expected from different cosmological models with 0.degrees 5-1 degre
es resolution and have demonstrated the usefulness of the topological
method to distinguish between different models of the noise.
