Recent experiments aimed at measuring the electronic interactions betw
een voltage-tunable quantum dots in which the electron number can be v
aried by integer values are summarized. With suitable gate electrodes
the quantum dots are defined electrostatically at a GaAs-AlGaAs hetero
junction interface. In coupled quantum dots electronic interactions ar
e made visible by studying Coulomb blockade oscillations of the static
conductance as well as collective resonances of the dynamic conductan
ce.
