Y. Nagamune et al., PHOTOLUMINESCENCE FROM POINT-CONTACT STRUCTURES - DIRECT OBSERVATION OF ELECTRON FLOW, Physica. B, Condensed matter, 227(1-4), 1996, pp. 77-81
We demonstrate visualization of electron flow from a point contact by
using a micro-photoluminescence measurement technique. It was found th
at the photoluminescence intensity at the exit of the point contact wa
s strongly reduced by the majority electron flow from the point contac
t. This is considered to be caused from that the majority electrons wi
th large wave number reduce radiative recombination of the electron-ho
le pairs generated by the laser illumination, which was also supported
by the time and spatial resolved measurement.
