A Voronoi tessellation in 3 space is used to describe the structure of
a porous cellulose acetate membrane. The model can be used to predict
the geometric properties of the media, pore size and shape distributi
ons, pore perimeter and internal surface area. These results have been
validated against experimental measurements using SEM and image analy
sis. The results have been used to predict the performance of the memb
rane Finder conditions of microfiltration.
