The layered oxides, Li2-xRuO3, were synthesized by chemical oxidation
using I-2 in CH3CN and their electrical and magnetic properties were i
nvestigated. The lithium deintercalation from Li2RuO3 caused the decre
ase of resistivity and the change in magnetic property from Curie-Weis
s paramagnetism at x=0.0 to nearly temperature-independent paramagneti
sm at x=1.0. The relationship between oxidation states of the rutheniu
m ions and its physical properties was discussed.
