Abstract
OBJECTIVE: The effectiveness of three-dimensional ultrasonography in v isualizing fetal digits was examined. STUDY DESIGN: The digits of 72 f etuses, including 2 with skeletal dysplasia, were examined prospective ly with both conventional and three-dimensional ultrasonography. RESUL TS: Complete visualization of ail fetal digits was obtained more often with three-dimensional ultrasonography than with two-dimensional ultr asonography. CONCLUSION: Three-dimensional ultrasonography has the pot ential to facilitate depiction of fetal digits, which may enhance pren atal identification of fetal malformations and chromosomal abnormaliti es in high-risk pregnancies.
