Chylous ascites is a rare condition affecting lymphatic system. Obstru
ction of the lacteal vessels pathway is the most common cause of chylo
us ascites secondary to malignant diseases, and often, good results ar
e obtained by conservative measures and direct treatment of the primar
y underlying disease. Rarely, this kind of approach is proven unsucces
sful and peritoneovenous shunts have been employed in selected cases;
we present a case where a secondary chylous due to malignant obstructi
on of the cisterna chili by an APUD cell tumour was treated by a LeVee
n device.
