Mfc. Andrade et al., STANDARD CT ASSESSMENT OF LYMPHEDEMATOUS LIMBS - RADIOLOGICAL PATTERNCHANGES AFTER CONSERVATIVE TREATMENT, Lymphology, 29, 1996, pp. 97-100
We reviewed CT scans of 50 limbs; lymphedema was clinically evident in
31 of them, while 19 were normal contralateral limbs. Characteristic
findings secondary to lymphedema, as skin thickening and heterogenous
subcutaneous layer were recorded. Cross-sectional subcutaneous area an
d radiological density were studied and constant alterations were seen
in a reliable, reproducible and non-invasive way. One patient was stu
died after physical treatment of lymphedema and changes in CT patterns
were consistent with clinical observation.
