F. Watanabe et al., HEAT AND MASS-TRANSFER IN SUPER ACTIVE CA RBON ETHANOL ADSORPTION HEAT-PUMP WITH PACKED-BED TYPE ADSORBER/, Kagaku kogaku ronbunshu, 22(4), 1996, pp. 722-727
The possibility of producing cold heat energy by the super active carb
on/ethanol-adsorption heat pump (AHP) with the packed bed type adsorbe
r was discussed on the basis of both experimental and calculated resul
ts of the transient behavior accompanied by this operation. The trend
of experimental results for heat and mass transfer agrees well with co
mputer simulation under closed-system, one-component, non-isothermal c
onditions in both adsorption and desorption processes. The super activ
e carbon/ethanol-AHP proposed generates high level cold heat energy by
raising the desorption temperature. Therefore, this AHP is applicable
to a refrigerator. However, it is suggested that enhancement of heat
tranfer in the adsorber is indispensable to obtain high power energy f
rom this type of AHP.
