Abstract
Rectangular-shaped low-pass filters are used in image processing appli cations. In this paper, we investigate some characteristics of the lin ear phase rectangular-shaped low-pass filter. A set of design rules ap plicable for the design of such filters optimal in the minimax error s ense is formulated.
