Abstract
The radiological diagnosis of osteoporosis is primarily based on osteo densitometry. The continuous development of new methods requires persi stent analysis of its potential and limits. The knowledge of the diffe rences of osteodensitometric methods is essential for understanding pa tient reports. The acronyms are internationally established, their cor rect usage is advocated.
