Abstract
Adoptive transfer of activated macrophages has been validated in anima l experimental tumor models: clinical trials are ongoing (70 patients up to now). The mechanisms involved are reviewed as well as improved a nd standardized procedures for macrophage differentiation and activati on. New developments including specific Ag presentation and gene thera py are discussed.
