The melting behaviour of ethylene vinyl acetate copolymer (EVA28, VA c
ontent 28% and EVA45, VA content 45%) blends with polychloroprene (CR)
has been studied with DSC. The crystalline melting temperature (Tm) o
f EVA lowers down on blending with CR. Tm of all blends increases with
the increase in crystallisation temperature (Tc). Equilibrium melting
temperature of all blends is obtained by extrapolation of the linear
plot of Tm versus Tc. With increasing contents of CR in the blends, th
e crystals become more stable. Crystal stability is found to be higher
for EVA28 blends compared to those of EVA45 blends.
