INVESTIGATION TO THE FORMATION OF NITROSA MINES DURING PRODUCTION ANDSTORAGE OF ELASTOMERES .3. KINETIC ASPECTS OF NITROSAMINE FORMATION IN THE GAS-PHASE

The nitrosation of typical rubber amines by NO2 was investigated in th e gas phase. In every case the corresponding nitrosamines were formed at a moderate rate. The shorter the alkyl group of the amin the faster occurs the formation of the corresponding nitrosamine. Before the nit rosation takes place an equilibrium of dimerization between NO2 and N2 O4 exists. As a consequence of this, a negative energy of activation f or the whole reaction results.
