Abstract
Tensile fatigue tests were conducted for CFRP quasi-isotropic laminate specimens with circular holes at the center of specimens. Microscopic fatigue damage progress was observed by a scanning acoustic microscop e (SAM). To discuss the delamination onset from the edge of the open h ole, the energy release rate associated with the delamination growth w ere calculated following O'Brien and Raju. The energy release rate pre dictions were qualitatively consistent with the experimental observati on.
