Abstract
Cities could benefit from roof gardens both in visual, aesthetic and l ocal human climatic amelioration. This article presents a comparative experimental study of local upward radiation fluxes under different we ather conditions. Hourly measurements on vegetative and insulated surf aces placed on a roof were carried out in Athens in the period 27 Augu st to 11 November 1993. These measurements are still unique in Greece.
