Abstract
In the Greater Athens Area (GAA) the air pollution monitoring network comprises 8 automatic stations, in which NO, NO2, SO2, O-3, and smoke concentrations are measured. The spatial distribution of the correlati on coefficient between the measurements of all the stations was used t o examine the representativeness of the monitoring network. The analys is shows, that the monitoring network in GAA is quite sufficient for t he larger part of the city, only a few suburbs haven't been covered ye t.
