Abstract
Functional Myxococcus xanthus A signal-generating and A signal-respond ing pathways are required for the progression through early multicellu lar development, To identify genes responsive to these pathways, the e xpression of eight early developmental genes was analyzed. This examin ation identified one gene as a target of the A signal-generating pathw ay and four genes as targets of the A signal-responding pathway.
