Abstract
Numerous endogenous signals (such as hormones and growth factors) or e nvironmental signals (including chemicals or temperature) contribute t o determining the overall biological response produced by cells. Some combinations of endogenous or environmental signals produce synergisti c activity. This commentary examines the different types of interactio ns between signals that contribute to synergy at the biological level.
