Consideration is given to rotation of nonconducting bodies in electror
heological suspensions. Experimental data are presented describing the
effect of an electric field on the rotation speed as well as on rheol
ogical and electrophysical properties of ERS. The dependence of speed
on temperature and the rotor geometry is considered in some detail. Tw
o examples of engineering applications are presented.
