Abstract
Rapid (millisecond) far-UV circular dichroism and fluorescence-monitor ed kinetic studies of the unfolding of barstar demonstrate the accumul ation of a compact intermediate devoid of much secondary structure, be fore the rate limiting step in unfolding.
