Abstract
:Anthracyclines are antimitotic antibiotics that are widely used as po tent anticancer agents, Their cardiotoxicity is the only limiting fact or to their use. The case of a 24-year-old woman who developed dilated hypokinetic cardiomyopathy with right- and left-sided congestive hear t failure while under anthracycline therapy for stage II Hodgkin's dis ease is reported. The pathophysiology, clinical manifestations, and me ans of diagnosis of anthracycline cardiotoxicity are reviewed.
