Abstract
The paper contains an analysis of how the gains from genetic progress in forestry can be approximated by a very simple formula, which is bas ed on an optimal rotation problem under genetic progress, and recent c onvergence results concerning under which conditions a forest will asy mptotically converge towards the normal forest.
