Abstract
This paper focuses an kg factors contributing to nicotine's addictiven ess and on therapeutic strategies used in the treatment of tobacco abu se. The roles of physical dependence, tolerance and sensitization, and pharmacokinetic factors are considered. Past and present therapeutic strategies for the treatment of tobacco abuse are discussed.
