Abstract
It is shown, based on the kinetic definition of the drift-orbit-driven flux, that the drift-orbit-driven flux is related to either the toroi dal viscosity, or the poloidal viscosity, or a combination of both. Th is result is the same as that obtained from the less direct moment equ ation approach [Phys. Fluids 26, 3315 (1983)]. (C) 1996 American Insti tute of Physics.
