Abstract
A simplified boson realization of the so(q)(3) subalgebra of u(q)(3) i s constructed. A simplifred form of the corresponding so(q)(3) basis s tates is obtained. The reduced matrix elements of a special second-ran k tensor operator (quadrupole operator) are calculated in the so(q)(3) basis.
