Abstract
Squalene synthase catalyzes the committed step of cholesterol biosynth esis. Pie report here the synthesis and in vivo activity of a series o f squalene synthase inhibitors that contain isosteric replacements for the farnesyl chain of the known inhibitor benzyl farnesyl amine.
