Excited states in Pm-149 have been studied through the Nd-150(d, 3n) r
eaction. gamma-gamma and electron-gamma coincidence data have enabled
partial level and decay schemes to be extended up to spin (27/2). The
spins and parities of excited levels have been deduced from measuremen
ts of internal conversion coefficients, decay schemes, and from compar
ison to the N = 88 isotones (151)EU and Tb-153. The data are discussed
in terms of the strength of octupole correlations.
