Abstract
A new binary salt (NH4)(2)Be(IO3)(4) . 2H(2)O has been synthesised, an d identified by elemental analysis, X-ray powder diffraction, IR spect ra, DTA and DSC. The IR spectra show two absorption bands at 860 cm(-1 ) and 460 cm(-1). The new compound showed thermal stability up to 160 degrees C. A diagram of the thermal decomposition was offered by ident ifying the intermediate product. The kinetic parameters (E and A) wer e investigated on the basis of the TG data, and the kinetic equations were determined. It was proved that the process takes place in the kin etic region.
