Oa. Krasilnikova et Na. Babenko, ROLE OF THYROID-HORMONES IN REGULATION OF PHOSPHATIDIC-ACID, PHOSPHATIDYLINOSITOL, AND POLYPHOSPHOINOSITIDE SYNTHESIS IN LIVER-CELLS, Biochemistry, 61(8), 1996, pp. 1008-1014
The influence of thyroxine on synthesis of total phospholipids, phosph
atidic acid, phosphatidylinositol, phosphatidylinositol-3-phosphate, a
nd phosphatidylinositol-3,5-bisphosphate was investigated in hepatocyt
es of white rats. The hormone induced a manyfold increase in [C-14]pal
mitate incorporation into the investigated lipids. The activating effe
ct of the hormone on lipid synthesis is imitated by phorbol 12-myrista
te 13-acetate and abolished by exogenous sphingosine. Addition of sphi
ngosine to intact cells inhibits phosphoinositide synthesis.
