V. Torres et al., A NOTE ON THE MODELING OF THE AMMONIA LOSSES OF COW DUNG UNDER VOISINS RATIONAL GRAZING SYSTEM, Cuban journal of agricultural science, 30(2), 1996, pp. 131-133
From a total of four non linear (exponential, Gauss, Gompertz and logi
stics) models used to quantify the daily volatized ammonia of fresh da
iry cow dung under Voisin's rational grazing system, Gauss was that of
better adjustment with coefficients of determination of 0.89, 0.88 an
d 0.89 and a residual variance of 0.061, 0.302 and 0.062 for the three
experiments carried out. The parameters of the model varied between t
he ranges of 29.78 to 45.93 for a) from 4.43 to 6.15 for b) and 8.09 t
o 8.73 for c. It is concluded that the Gauss model was the most approp
riate for modelling the ammonia losses in grazing areas, with an adequ
ate interpretation of the parameters.
