M. Valdivie et al., FEEDING OF BROILERS WITH RUSTIC SACCHASOJAMAIZE WITHOUT THE USE OF ANINOCULANT, Cuban journal of agricultural science, 30(2), 1996, pp. 183-189
Nine hundred and sixty E-24 chickens of both sexes were used to evalua
te a new feed known as Sacchasojamaize. A completely randomized design
from 7 to 49 days of age was used in four treatments consisting of 0,
10, 20 and 30% of Sacchasojamaize. There was a high viability ranging
from 98 to 99%. In treatments with 0, 10, 20 and 30% of this product,
respectively. Intake of conventional feeds was 4144, 4082, 3823 and 3
642 g/bird and live weight was 1774, 1856, 1798 and 1721 g/bird and co
nversion of conventional feeds was 2.43, 2.34, 2.24 and 2.20 kg/bird.
The cost of one ton of carcass + edible viscera was 1303, 1260, 1233 a
nd 1252 US$. Thus, it was demonstrated that for the first time rustic
Sacchasojamaize without inoculant can be used for broiler feeding and
that up to 20% can be included in their feeds.
