I. Kang et al., TIME-DOMAIN OBSERVATION OF NUCLEAR CONTRIBUTIONS TO THE OPTICAL NONLINEARITIES OF GLASSES, Physical review. B, Condensed matter, 54(18), 1996, pp. 12641-12644
Time-resolved measurements of nonlinear refraction and two-photon abso
rption in glasses directly exhibit the effects of nuclear vibrational
motion in addition to the electronic response. Time-domain observation
of the Raman response of optical glasses allows us to determine the r
elative contributions of the electronic and nuclear mechanisms to the
nonlinear response.
