Abstract
Melanin isolated from black horse wool was analyzed by high-performanc e Liquid chromatography. The paramagnetic properties of melanin were s tudied as influenced by various chemical treatments: reduction, oxidat ion with iodine and bromine, and alkali treatment. The explanations of the results obtained were offered. The model of the melanin structure was proposed.
