Abstract
Tendencies in synthesis and properties of unsaturated polyesters based on fumaric acid and norbornene-2,3-dicarboxylic dianhydride are studi ed. The molecular weight, degree of cis-trans isomerization, and compo sition of polyesters prepared are determined by H-1 and C-13 NMR spect roscopy. The presence of endo and exo norbornene fragments in the poly ester chain ensures high level of physicomechanical properties of cure d resins. A series of formulations of unsaturated polyester resins exh ibiting high levels of impact resilience, bending strength, hardness, and heat resistance are developed.
