Abstract
Behavior of plutonium in the solvent extraction system 3 M nitric acid -tributyl phosphate (TBP) in the presence of ascorbic acid was studied with the Pu-237 tracer. In some extraction experiments sulfamic acid was added to the aqueous phase to study its stabilizing effect on Pu(I II). The distribution factors of Pu(III) and Pu(lV) and variation of c oncentrations of these species over time were determined by gamma-coun ting of the aqueous and organic phases with a single-channel analyzer and a well-type NaI detector.
