Abstract
A survey is made of methods for determination and isolation of actinid es using their various oxidation states, recently developed in the Rad iochemistry Laboratory, Vernadsky Institute of Geochemistry and Analyt ical Chemistry, Russian Academy of Sciences. Techniques of precision c oulometric determination of uranium, plutonium, and americium are desc ribed. Possibilities of spectroelectrochemical method for studying che mical behavior of transplutonium elements (TPEs) in various oxidation states are demonstrated. Solvent extraction and precipitation methods for isolation of americium from other TPEs with preliminary oxidation of americium to tetra-, penta- and hexavalent states are described.
