Abstract
This article polemizes with the Graziano (1994) article, ''Why We Shou ld Study Subabusive Violence Against Children,'' and tries to indicate that in the field of research studies on parental violence against ch ildren not only methodological or theoretical issues need to be questi oned. Cultural and ethical origins of family violence and social biase s leading to the legitimization of parental violence should be the cen ter of attention.
