One of the most important tasks of modern geodynamical research lies i
n the precise determination of solid tide motions. Studies of the effe
cts of solid tide motions of an astronomical station on observational
data of pulsar have shown that the change of pulse period (p) and its
change rate (p) caused by the solid tides are not negligible. A numeri
cal analysis for Arecibo Observatory as an example indicates that this
kind of effects overlapped on the period and its rate enters directly
into the observational results. Based on this investigation a new met
hod of solid tide research and determination by means of the analysis
of p and p of pulsars is put forward. The successful implement of this
method will open up a new area of solid tide research and provide som
e results comparable with those given by other contemporary methods an
d some special ones.
